Education Minister Elizabeth Truss has announced funding of £1.1 million for the British Computer Society (BCS) - the Chartered Institute for IT - to develop a computing readiness programme aimed specifically at primary school teachers with no prior experience of computer science. www.gov.uk/government/news/teaching-the-new-computing-curriculum
CAS (Computing at School) is looking for both primary and secondary teachers to apply to become CAS master teachers. CAS Master Teachers will deliver local CPD to teachers and schools and play a vital role in developing computing provision in schools nationally.” Details of the programme can be found at http://www.computingatschool.org.uk/index.php?id=noe-master-teachers CAS, in association with Naace and other partners have published a guide for primary school teachers. The guide explains how primary teachers can get started with the new curriculum and provides many pointers to excellent resources and ideas for building an innovative and exciting curriculum.
